Nice. I love the badlands. (And I think I own that exact same hat)

If you're a golfer, you should play the Bully Pulpit ou there, incredible scenery and a great course.

Very cool pics man! There's a comic by Don Rosa where Scrooge is in the Badlands. Crazy drawings of the nature there, but from the pics I've seen from there, the real deal is crazy as it is..

Cool pics and trip. Are you taking the Bar and thus staying in N. Dakota or are you taking it in some other state? Didn't you live in Ca before?

true - western ND is pretty dry. and then freezing -20F in the winter. The vegetation is not so green, but the landscapes are awesome. Ive been to Grand Canyon, and its hard to compare the two - each have great qualities.

Ya badlands are crazy landscapes. rounded and jagged mountains. Deer, antelope types, buffalo, and TONS of prairie dogs are what I saw. I see the Don Rosa stuff is the donald duck kids lol

right on! SD is pretty cool. I can tell you that the ND badlands go on forever and ever with scenic landscapes - we drove around the main roadway - wow!

ha thats what I need to do is get the green hat goin, grow my hair long and listen to heavy metal like that and drive around with my hair flowing in the wind? hehe I get it though... I need the tender love of a woman in the winter to get me through

I found the lyrics to that Badlands song you posted "Winter's Call"

Fall leaves have changed their color
    Winter's on its way
I'm lookin' for the sunny part of town
And leaving on, I hear the wicked cold winds call me
    They say, don't fly away

    Ooh, oh, oh, ah-ha, ha
    Drink the warm wines
Feel the heat from a fire's blaze
You take a long walk in those lonely winter days
You hear her cry out in the cold baby hold me, hold me
    Don't fly away
    Ooh, oh, oh, oh, oh

    Winter's cold winds call me
    Gonna leave it all behind
Summer breezes fill my mind, fill my mind
    Oh, yes they do now

    Winter's cold winds call me
    Gonna leave it all behind
Summer breezes fill my mind, fill my mind

All your love is what I need from you
All your love is gonna keep me warm through the winter's storm
I give it to you baby
Give it to me now mama

    Winter's cold winds call me
    Gonna leave it all behind
Summer breezes fill my mind, they fill my mind

All your love is what I need from you
All your love is gonna keep me warm through the winter's storm
I give it to you baby
I give it to you now mama
    Give it to you baby
All you love, oh, stick it

    (Solo)

All your love is what I need from you
All your love is gonna keep me warm, so warm
All your love is what I need from you
All your love is gonna keep me warm through the winter's storm
I give it to you, baby
Give it to me now, mama
    I give to you, baby
Give it to me now, baby, oh ah

All your love, all your love, all your love, all your love
I need it from you baby (all your love)
Give it to me now mama (all your love)
All your love, all your love
Give it to me now, baby
Give it to you now, mama
All your love, all your love
