Thumbs up Pictures of the $299 Pine Telecaster.......

I figured everyone would want to see these so I started this new thread for everyone. I FINALLY got to shoot these at my nieces birthday party tonight at my parents house. Guys I cant even begin to say what a great guitar this is, regardless of what the headstock says or cost this is one of the best Teles I have ever played (considering price).

My niece wanted it as her birthday present.

I get weak in the knees at the sight of a vintage Fender amp!

I played one of the vintage modified tele Squires a few weeks ago and I was surprised by how good it played. All they had was a couple 10-15 watt practice amps in the pawnshop, so I can't say much for the sound.

What's the finish anyway, I wan see the grain in the back.

    All in all, I'm impressed...

Sweet! I like the semi-transparent white too. Squiers are cool.

Modern day Squier gets a bad rap, and I suppose like Epiphone in their dark days, most of the time deservedly so.

But we all know about how good those old MIJ Squiers are (had one myself), but the current MIC/MII stuff has some gems here and there. Lately I've played a couple of those jazz stangs or whatever they are called with the 24" scale and 2 buckers, and they were nice playing guitars and def worth the $- one was absolutely better put togther and played far better than the 3 times as costly MIM tele deluxe (2 WR buckers) I was a/b'ing it with. Some of the current Squier strats are pretty good deals too if you want a mod/beater.

I think thats just about my fave color combination when it comes to a classic Tele. Nice score Greg

Put a set of Hotrails in it!

Ant II's? You'll ruin that guitar.

Just kidding, I wouldn't use them but your twang is different than mine.

I think Leo would be proud of these, and most of the Squier line as they keep to his philosophy of making guitars solid and cheap to manufacture. In that sense, these keep to his ideals more-so than any of the CS stuff priced at $2500.

PS antiquities = $$$ I'd go for a set of A2 Pro singles for a soft sound, and a set of 54/Broadcaster for a bolder tone.

    JeffB,
I have a Japanese Squier Strat and its one of the best strats I ever played.

I just happened to think about it.. I dont own a single Fender.. All of my "fenderish" models are Squiers. Isnt because Im a Squier fanboy, its just that I was able to get the tone and playability with out spending alot of $$.
My tele (299) compared favorably to Fenders costing up to $600-700, My Jap Strat is one of the best strats Ive ever played and I got it for $149, and my other Squier was $139 and was my learning bed for mods and is now a very gig worthy superstrat that could cover almost anything.

    Butch,
    What are Paul Bunyans??

    Lofibrian,
the pics of the neck look similar to mine. Im not real up to date on tele neck shapes and fret sizes, but when I bought mine, I compared it to a MIM standard tele and Nashville tele. I thought it felt better than the Nashville and sounded better than the standard..
Nicely done frets prob qualify as vintage, def not jumbo, and neck is not clubby and feels as good as any tele Ive played. If that helps any

I think the vintage modified has a 3 ply pickguard
