Great song. Alice Cooper's life was the ultimate personification of of the 20th century rock star . One day on a lear jet to somewhere ..who knows where..he bottomed out. Hasnt touched a drink since. That was in 1980 i believe.
He's a living legend - I'd say one of the top five American Rock legends of all time..whose catelouge is amazing in its depth, scope , and virtuosity.
I didnt know "Elected" was penned by Townshend/Daltry.
It wouldnt surprise me. he had a huge connection with British rock..and even had some of Elton Johns band there when I saw him at the Oakland Coloseum for the Madhouse tour in '81 after he had become clean and sober.
Love that tune! I saw Alice perform that song before the album release.
Definitely a very hard song to sing.

The musical structure of the song definitely sounds like The Who to me. Cool song and video.

Oh no Elected was written by the band - Townsend and Daltrey had nothing to do with it other than influence. But you can hear it loud and clear, the lift of the Dolly Dagger riff at the beginning, great lyrics and total PT riffage.
Alice Cooper in that era was just amazing. Ezrin was a guru and Wagner, Hunter and Mick Mashbar were all pratically members of the band. DD is probably my favorite bass player, that cat has got chops for days.
