There could be MANY reasons for this. One of them not being that they need to be temp-controlled. They may however becasue inside of a shipping container or a trailer, it can get mighty hot. It could be a unforeseen shipping practice though. Maybe it was a backhaul or something?

that's what I'm thinking. It probably sat in a dropped trailer at some pool point, just waiting for the go-ahead to deliver. I know that some trailers (especially with the poly tops) get blistering hot, which could soften solder joints. I usually use refer trailers when shipping east to west and vice versa during this time of year.
