I remember being at the local library sometime last year.
Some Italian guy (I don't mean a guy of Italian ancestry, I mean a guy FROM Italy) comes up to me and well....... talks. He couldn't figure out how to log into the library computers, as I guess he might have been asking me for help.
It seems a little unreasonable to expect, that well, the guy nearest to you is actually going to speak and understand Italian (being Australia and all where).
It seemed a bit odd that a guy from overseas was wandering around in a working class Melbourne suburb like mine..... I guess he had family over here or something, but still, I can't imagine coming all the way across the world and spending anytime in a rather mundane environment like a working class suburb, I would just figure you would be staying at a 5 star hotel in the inner city of Melbourne and going to some nice restaurant or something if you payed that much and came that far.....
Just a thought in that last part![]()
