    Default The Large Hadron Collider

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24525554/

I read an excellent article about this in National Geographic as well... I just hope it doesn't tear a hole in the Universe when they turn it on.

I saw an article on it on yahoo today. Crazy stuff. That msnbc article has a lot of great pictures. I don't know what any of it means, though.

He's about 650 miles away from that thing. If he's in trouble, we all are.

I think the project sounds cool from what I have seen. I don't have the National Geographic Channel, so any similar shows/broadcast schedules from you fellas would really be appreciated.

I don't think that if they can create anti-matter, that it will be a chain reaction.
    We should all be safe.
(But hey, it's 20 years since I studied Quantum physics, so what do I know!)

What is in abundance, will absorb the minority. It did 13.7 billion years ago, and it will now.

There's nothing to worry about, yet. It's being fired up today, but it'll take about a month before it is revved up and up to speed. Then, if something goes wrong and one black hole were to stabilise, the entire earth would be sucked in and all of us killed.

That's assuming that black holes exist at all - like the article said. They could find something here that causes them to outright drop the last 50 years of scientific research on the subject. It's really quite interesting.

In case of resonance cascade, please use crowbar.

Maybe we would just be living in a black hole then! LOL Not a lot different imo than now.

I'm hoping they find a way to sell mini black holes so I could send a few as gifts to my ex-bosses.
