Default Pole piece spacing question - Gibson verses Duncan

Is it true that the pole spacing on Gibson Burstbucker pickups are slightly wider than on the Duncan Seth Lovers? I've just replaced the BBs with the Duncs and noticed the strings do not line up as close to the polepieces compared to before with the BBs. If so can I ask why the difference? and which would be more accurate to original PAF specs?
    Thanks!

I cant speak for the BB's but, I know for a fact the Gibson 57's are the same measurements as standard spaced Duncans. I thought the BB's were the same from what I have heard but, I have never personally tried it myself. Maybe it could juts be a height issue throwing you off or, maybe the picked is kicked a bit more to one side in the ring? Maybe they are different?

Seems weird that they would use more than one spacing.
Buy the book in my avatar. It's pretty cool.

57's are spaced like regular Duncans but, the T and R series has that slightly wider spacing that is in between a SH and a TB.
