I went to a sleep disorder specialist yesterday and she is about 90% sure that I am suffering from sleep apnea....so...next wednesday night I am going for a sleep study.
I have been battling fatigue for several years and my old physician diagnosed me with hypoglycemia/early stages type 2 daibetes. Well to make along story somewhat concise, my new Dr. did several blood tests and has ruled out sugar/insulin problems and reffered me to the sleep specialist.
Yesterday, I filled out a questionaire and was physically examined..the Doc thinks that I have been treating myself for apnea without me being aware of it....I trained myself to sleep on my side...I slept on my back for years and then just didn't anymore...I drink Caffeine at certain times of the day...Hell, I thought I was just getting old!
The good news is that it is treatable and the Doc thinks I will feel much better (and younger) after the study and start treatmebnt with a CPAP.
I might have to take a pic when they hook me up with all the electrodes, just to give you guys (and gals) a good laugh.
PS, it is nice to be able to eat an occasional dessert.![]()
