For those who don't know, Vetteboy has seen some of the...er... "ups and downs" of my automotive days.

I have a reputation in the 4WD world for transmission failure. Let's put it this way: I could break a steel ball in a rubber room.

I went through 6 transmissions in a Toyota pickup truck (yeah, six) and destroyed a notoriously durable and resilient transmission (AW4, see Jeep Cherokee, Toyota Supra) in what could best be described as "an unprecedented display of user-error."

At my wedding, the maid of honor gave a speech outlining all of the cars I have destroyed over the years (at least four, one was hers ) and noting how my wife stood by while I spent all my time and money building cars and subsequently destroying them.

i'm very mechanical, i love to tinker with stuff, usually cars.

i do, rotary engines, transmissions, carburators, fuel injection (stock and aftermarket). i have built wiring harnesses, plenty of race cars.

in a racing context we've done some high tech stuff like datalogging shock position and speed, brake pressure, steering angle....

I am a car guy like some probably already know on here. I have worked on cars for a living and I also have some machinist experience pertaining to automotive stuff.

I worked at a shop that specialized in Roll Royce and Bentley (Pain in the A$$ cars to work on BTW).

I have done machine work that mainly deals with performance and reuilds. Mainly cylinder head work. Multi angle valve jobs, mild port and polishing and that sort of thing.

    I have also been a luthier/guitar tech.

I've never failed to put anything back together after I've taken it apart.

I was first into model cars, then built my RC10T R/C stadium truck, then moved to soldering electronics, worked for Mesa Engineering doing soldering and cabinet sanding. I then went onto work as a tech for Music Biz, and shortly thereafter to inspect Hohner Guitars at the West Coast distributor of Sonor, Hohner, Sabian, Vic Firth. Now I'm back in school to become a mechanical engineer.

Being great at something requires that you fail a little on the way to greatness. Right now I fail at guitar almost every day.

Oh, I forgot that stage. Around 12 I was racing and building RC cars. RC10L's and fabricating alot of my own parts (mainly Chassis and stuff). I was in a 6 cell stock motor class mainly.
