Why Women arent into gear

Not to be chauvenistic, and i stress that this just generalising, but many guys here have heard that question before from women:
"Why do you have so many guitars?'
Heres a great explanation I found on another forum I joined recently('Head-Fi" which is a Headphone forum), and they also have the same issue with many women ( no not all women ,of course) being indifferent to gear or puzzled by G.A.S.

Men, biologically have had to mindfully balance the rewards between expending energy, and conserving energy to eek out an existence. As a hunter, failure to acheive a meal after expending too much enegy...is worse than laying in wait for an easier meal.

Laying in wait, has it's advantages. Sniping on Ebay! One-hundred thousand species prove this theory.

Specialization of tools is an expression of the the mind. Geez, a foot pedal makes a tenth of a second difference in the result...but that is what is required.

I have "X" number of guitars, fishing poles, weapons, hot sauces.

I think the simple answer to this question is because we, on average, don't spend as much on them as we do on gear. Of course, I did drop better than 5 g's last Christmas on my wife's gift -- that always helps.

1) I wouldn't want to marry a guitar chick or a Jeep chick --- it's too masculine of a hobby for me to like a girl that's into it. That being said, I am pretty old fashioned and married a sweetie who loves to cook and go shopping and wear pink and be a girl. You get the picture. I'm just that way, love the girly girls.

2) pzaxtl --- spending a good chunk on them is a great move. Some folks think it's wasteful but I cannot stress this enough, IT'S a GOOD MOVE! Get em a diamond ___________ or a pair of shoes or boots or a handbag or something that they really want (after you make it sound like you'll never ever get it for them, can't spoil em! plus this increases the amount of gratitude that comes your way once you bite the bullet) and then you have carte blanche for a little while.

I gave my wife a pair of boots for her birthday in October that were shamefully expensive (although I have to hand it to them, they're very well made) but then when that PRS fell out of the sky and into my guitar corner, I didn't get a lot of "feedback."
