Default Replacment humbucker with that TSRTS jimmy page bridge quack?

    Hey everyone

I already checked through all the pickups made by SD, but it seems there is no humbucker made to produce that "quack" you can distinctly hear in page's TSRTS tone

i guess i was looking for an early 1970s t-top replica, or maybe a humbucker version of the duckbucker

anyone know anyone else who makes this kind of quacky sounding pickup?

in 1973, page only had his #1 les paul, which, during all of led zeppelin, never had any mods done to it. it's all just him, and his volume and tone controls

Alnico V PAF's quack pretty well when you dig in. Personally, I'd go with 59's.

Aside from the CS Page set, the '59 is the specific replica of what was in that LP. The CS set is a more modern, hotter set.

most of the "quack" is from his extremely hard pick attack. The Gibson "burstbuckers" are what you want. remember he also had a coil tap on the bridge pup on his LP and he used vintage marshall plexi's with the treble pretty and mids pretty high and not as much on the bass.
    2009 Gibson Les Paul Custom
    2006 Charvel San Dimas RI
1986 Laney AOR "Pro Tube" 100MV
Majik Box Doug Aldrich "Rocket Fuel"

All the wiring mods on both JPP LPs #1 and #2 were made AFTER Led Zeppelin.

But his LP Custom 3pu with Bigsby that got stolen in 1971 had 2 additional toggle switches beside main toggle switch. There is a photo of this guitar with 3 toggles but not an info what they did.

Quack on TSRTS may have something to do with bridge pickup being replaced in 1972 when original one broke. Some say it's T-Top some say it's another PAF ... it was double black so it's more probably T-Top ...

But again ... it's mostly his playing style.
