The 78 is a very cool pickup. It has a very "chewy" (to rip off Lew's word) midrange and an overall aggressive sound. It's really hard to describe, but it feels very alive and sensitive under your fingers. The 78 is VERY different from the Brobucker like the difference betwen a 59 and a Seth. The Brobucker's wire is the same used in the 59 (plain enamel) and the 78 uses something else...I'm guessing formvar.
