Little 59s and quack

Hi, new poster here.

I'm considering tricking out one of my strats with sc sized humbickers in the neck and bridge - I like the sound of full humbuckers in a strat, and think that they sound traditional enough split in position 2 and four. Now, the guitar is only routed for single coils, so I would like to try the sc sized buckers before taking to routing. I've heard a little 59 in the bridge, and liked the sound, but how will they do the 2 and 4 position quack tones?

I loved the quack tones bro. I had it wired full humbucker in position 2.

Very good overall pickup. Can be clean/dirty, very down the middle pickup. Very versatile.

I like the Little 59 as a bridge pickup but split, I don't think it sounds much like a vintage Strat single coil. It sounds thinner and smaller than a vintage pickup, IMO, when split.

If you already have a regular Strat with vintage style pickups then you're getting the vintage tone in the #2 and #4 switch settings.

If you have a second Strat that you want to try a set of Little 59's in go for it! It's a cool tone. But don't expect it to sound like Dire Straits - even when you split the coils.

So I wont have to split them? interesting. I have a set of Lace Sensor Gold in there now, and I might keep the middle one in at first, just to see how it sits with the duncan at the front and back.

Yeah... in a better and free world.. Where USA strats and Seymour duncan pickups are free.

I'd have a Strat with 3 little 59's in it.

I think you'd have more fun with a little 59 in bridge and another gold in the neck.

I like the lil59s non-split with a noiseless middle single.

Leaving the Lace in the middle should work out well. I am not sure about the wind/polarity of the Lace pickups but the lil59s are 4 conductor so it will be possible to get the phase correct.

Sounds like a plan to me!
