Default Rehearsal with my Tele and P-Rails

I got together with my brother (the drummer) and a new bass player this evening to see how we play together, and it went great. I played my HH Tele with P-Rails into my Fender Cyber twin, and man does it sound good. I couldn't be happier with my sound at the moment. And p-90 pickups just rule - can I say that right now? These pickups are really versatile. This was really the first time I got to turn up louder than I normally do at home, and hear the setup with two other musicians. Everyone needs at least one guitar with p-rails. I find that my tele seems to be the most versatile of all my guitars currently.

How do you have the HB mode? Series or parallel? How does that sound?

In series - it has a really nice bite, and with proper eq and distortion it cuts through perfectly with a drummer and bass player. Single coil mode is just the p90 coil - I've got another push/pull pot that I intended to solder in to select either p90 coil or the rail coil, I just haven't gotten to that yet. The p-rails are a different kind of sound - and the note clarity seems to be there whether the pickup is in single coil or humbucking mode.

The tone was bitey enough that I had to back off on the presence and treble on my amp, but it is nice to know that I can go there if need to. It seems like my eq is a little over-compensated when I'm fiddling around with my guitars at home - probably because I can't get that loud here. I do find that I'm using less distortion now than I have in the past. I like chords to rip and roar as much as the next guitar player, but I have been trying to use the volume control on my guitar more rather than just cranking the gain on my amp to 11.
