Let me revise that statement...............

I never fly because the Lord said: "Low, and I will be with thee."

my holy grail:
the guitar, not KK
its a hamer custom shop deal, only one in existence as far as ive ever known (though i have seen a copy of it made through the hamer custom shop again for a dude in a priest tribute band). i lusted after that guitar for a good 4 years, contemplating making a replica (or close to it) myself through warmoth, or from Ran guitars' custom shop in poland. one way or another, i never ended up going through with those schemes.
but this past september, i found what i never thought i would see in my life. this guitar, on ebay. i was just randomly going through ebay's ESP selection on a whim and clicked on this one. i couldnt even tell what it was from the little thumbnail, i just saw a red V with a floyd. turns out its an either one-off or limited run (i dont speak japanese) replica of KK downing's hamer made by Edwards. i knew i had to buy it. its what ive been waiting for this whole time. so i did. had it shipped from hong kong, even. haha. it just needed to be done.
overall, it was a lot of money on something i had never played or even played anything from that company. but thankfully, it paid off in full because it plays god**** amazing. i love this guitar, and all the waiting and yearning was entirely worth it.
i got my holy grail.

I just thought of a new one;
Semi hollow 355 shape built with solid carved top and back like the Vox Virage
Back and side portion - Ovangkol
Top - Ash
Neck - Ovangkol
Fretboard - Rosewood, MoP dot inlays, medium jumbo frets, 25.5" scale length and Epihpone elitist style 6 a side headstock. Grover turners
Seth lovers all round
ToM and stop bar
Whole thing finished in a natural colored oil finish
Chrome hardware
11 gauge pure nickel strings
No binding, no pick guard, bass and treble f-holes
I should imagine that the conditions in the cockpit are totally unimaginable. - Murray Walker

i've got another one to add to my holy grail-ness.
for cleans, i just finished up my dot studio with an a5-490 in the neck with a 1meg volume pot, and it's got a very bright sound. perfect for my clean ska stuff! with a bit of drive, it makes for a good solo tone, it cuts like nobody's business! also the bridge isn't to bad either, same as the neck with a 500k volume. i must post a pic...
but either way, my dot studio is my go-to for clean stuff, and my bare-naked(you've all seen the pics) SG is still my #1 for now.

1959 Les Paul with slightly overwound PAFs.
A Strat with warm vintage sounding pickups wouldn't be bad either.

I have so many dreams... Some things along these lines:
(these are all "build your own guitar" images from various sites)
PAF neck, hot bridge -- rosewood neck, mahog cap on maple
the same thing in a buttery vintage tan:
the "swiss army knife" guitar; hot PAFs with a lipstick, 5-way with series/parallel switching:

LOTS of em actually!
The one that readily comes to mind is Sweet Cherry from the Beauty of the Burst book. Then should could sit next to my R8!
Luke
You'll use it, boy, and as long as you hate using it, you will use it more wisely than most men would. Wait. If ever you don't hate it any longer, then will be the time to throw it as far as you can and run the other way.”
—Elyas Machera to Perrin
My dream "LP-ish" guitar in every way, although it could use better tuners and the nut was cut too low, other than that this guitar is unreal.
I have mine and I'm totally happy with it, even with all the weird quirks in it. My Epiphone Les Paul Floyd Rose with Seymour Duncan P-rails.
If I were really rich I would get the new EVH Fender Wolfgang and the Les Paul Axcess. $$
My excellent replica of Eric Clapton/Todd Rundgren's "Fool" SG. I have loved this guitar since I was a kid and always dreamed of playing it, Then I found out people were making replica's of it, I looked for a good 4 years before I found one that was as close to the original as you could possibly get. The only thing it does not have is the angel wings, triangle and striker do not have the reflective shine like the original, which for some reason was never captured in photo's but only in video or in person. This is a 2005 Gibson SG 1961 re-issue painted by Jennifer Ganser.

#1.
With EMG 81/85, Floyd Rose, and custom skull inlays.
#2.Randy Rhoads white LP yes that is the coolest ever.
#3.Lita Fords custom double necked BC RICH BICH
#4.Ed Romans Rockingbat, looks pretty effing killer too!

Um... Did you quote the correct image? It's just nitrocellulose that I got from the guitar reranch. The design was copied (by hand!) from a t-shirt by a good friend of mine. I actually have finished pictures of the guitar, I can say without exaggeration that it is the summation of everything I've learned about tone from this forum. Fat maple neck with rosewood fretboard, tall & skinny frets, callaham tremolo with a compensated telecaster saddle for the high e & b strings, vintage style locking tuners (they're not like regular locking tuners, they actually weigh the same as vintage klusons, but lock)... the whole 9 yards.
I even finished the neck with some colored shellac (to give it that vintage tint) and finished over that with tru-oil. I don't know what it is, but it's as loud as my old schecter C-1 E/A hollow-body was unplugged, and I can feel the body resonate with every note I play.
So, without further Ado, my 'holy grail':
The p-rails really are amazing in this guitar, I don't have enough good things to say about them (the guitar and the p-rails)!

It will be a while before I own my holy grail.
It will most likely be a KxK 25.5 inch scale 7 string in light green and with Blackouts.
After doing my research and finding out they made custom guitars cheaper than I get a Les Paul Studio brand new, I'll never buy a new production guitar again, and will always get custom or used guitars.
