Just going through some of my old recordings.
Good lord, they sound pretty terrible.
That was back in the day when I thought you needed to max the gain out on the rhythm guitars to get it to chunk hard enough.
And then, sometime after I finished all those recordings, I realized my technique had improved and I only needed half as much gain and it would actually sound bigger![]()



I use Audacity on Linux and FreeBSD. There's a Windows version, which might or might not be of the same quality. It's free OpenSource software.
I wouldn't call it great but it gets the job done and thanks to digital recording it doesn't damage the quality either way. Of course you need a decent soundcard first.

I have put up a couple of songs there. I have 2-3 more in the works, and I am still waiting for the CD the choir I play for was in session for last winter, so I'll probably put up a couple of songs from there too.. Scary -- sure, yeah, but I would like some feedback to help me get on a better track, and well... to echo wahwah, what doesn't kill you....
