Is it still good for Thrash? Super tight and chugga chugga without a damn cocked-wah?

It is done! After much delay I finally put in the A8. I won't bore you with the tonal differences between Custom5 Custom8, it has already been described much better by others. Output wise it is slightly louder, which is okay, still doesn't overpower my 59A4. The Custom8 is a definitely a keeper, much tighter than the Custom5, great for metal and anything really.
Here's an interesting observation though. Another forum member actually mentioned this too I think. If you go parallel (i have triple shots) it sounds like a Custom5 again! Lower output of course but more open, slightly scooped, better cleans, etc. What a bonus, I've got a Custom8 and Custom5 at the flip of a switch! I'm sure many would disagree on this but that is what my ears are hearing. Custom8 rules!!!![]()

You've been selling the Lt. Kojak set pretty hard, I had a feeling I would end up with these mags. Here are some sloppy riffs I recorded with a cheap mic, and it's only right channel for some reason. Still trying to figure out my whole recording setup but considering the limitations it sounds pretty sweet, check out the Custom 8 riffage.

Thanks, I'm shopping for a shure sm57 and with just a few minutes of tinkering I'm sure I can figure out the stereo panning issue, I'm using Sonar 8. Finally have a band assembled so I'm going to focus on writing and try to stop switching mags so much, I'm pretty satisfied with this set. Easier said than done though.
Edit: see my post on "Tips & Clips" to help me with recording, thanks!

I hate heavy metal, but I play classic rock, Rock, hard rock, grunge and alt rock. Would the C8 work?

I have to get one of these or rather build one.
