    Holy crap! That is sad! I knew everytime I saw him that he looked in bad health. I guess I just didnt realize just how bad.

    It has to be done!! Fantastic piano playin!! That song wouldn't have been what it was without Mr. Powell's honky tonk/gunsmoke/bar room style of piano playin. The dude could jam!!

    That really sucks. They're one of my favorite bands of all time, and all my keyboardist friends loved his playing. His playing added so much beauty to an otherwise guitar dominated band.

    RIP Billy Powell. At least we didn't lose him in the plane wreck decades ago.

    Well, I managed to see all them boys, including with Steve Gaines, at least five or six times LIVE!!!!!

    Everyone in that band made that band, but just something about that piano playin just put it all together. His playin was somewhat in the background, but Skynyrd wouldn't have sounded like Skynyrd if it wasn't for that dude.
