You got some good magnets to play with. You're doing fine. Let us know how it goes.

Yes for me the SD has a tad too many highs and not enough mids...so the a8 should work just great. And as far as that a4 in the 59 I hope it fixes my problems with it

I did a similar thing a month month ago, 1 each of A8 ceramic and A2. Had to go back and get some A3, A4 and make sure I had a couple of each other magnet so I could experiment properly.

This magnet swapping really is excellent stuff, so many thanks to all those that have shared their knowledge on this forum.

I'd recommend always getting an assortment of $50 worth of magnets from Wymore (unless you only have one HB or P-90 guitar); that gets you free shipping. Otherwise you pay shipping a couple times; let's face it, you can always use the magnets.

It's good to see another player turned on to magnet swapping. Spread the word.

I'm thinking of finally biting the bullet and dropping for some magnets myself this weekend...I've got a CC I want to turn into a C8, and I want to have some spares around to check out.

I'll be placing an order for some A8s from Wymore once the Hot Rails neck for Tele comes in.

that is the next one I wanna try... Though I usually go for stuff in the 10k range the c8 seems to be a winner

Yeah, I've heard too many good things about 'em here, and barely any cons.

I have a Custom in a Northern Ash Charvel Mutt Strat; love it, but it is ever-so slightly on the "harsh" side. I have a CC in a Koa Warmoth Strat, and while I also love that, it could have a little more "oomph" in the low-end, as it were.
Now I'm assembling a Swamp Ash Musikraft body and a (real, old-school) Charvel neck and wondering if (certainly sounds like from what I read here) the C8 would be the "best of both worlds" choice. I'm going to try it in that one, and if I reeeeeeally like it may turn the Custom and CC in the other two into C8s. We'll see...

Output-wise I think the Custom wind is just hot enough, without being overkill for my tastes...
