That one came to my mind right away.

An old Zeppelin tune, I think it's "When the Levee Breaks".

"For Your Love" by The Yardbirds

I don't think it's drums at the beginning, but that breakdown in the middle is pretty distinctive.

Eddie Money - Shakin'. It may not be as recognizable now, but back in the 80s, this was all over top 40 stations.

So, are people just listing songs with drum intros now?

BTW, Oh Grand Poo Bah, "In the Air Tonight" was Phil Collins, not Genesis.

Fall Out Boy - Dance Dance

as a drummer, i can easily recognize songs that i know based on their drum beats.
Considering that there are no drums in the first 8 bars of "Smoke On The Water," and at that point only hats for 4 bars and then the snare coming in at bar 13, I would suggest that if you haven't recognized the song until you hear the drum beat, there is something horribly wrong!

Truth; that was on his first solo album "Face Value". Also, the drums don't come in until 3:40, so if you don't know this tune after 2 choruses (can you say "instantly recognizable"?) see your doctor.

Hmm, let's see what else I can come up with:

Neil Young - Needle and the Damage Done
Fleetwood Mac - Never Going Back Again
    Fleetwood Mac - Songbird
Led Zeppelin - Black Mountain Side
Joni Mitchell - Big Yellow Taxi
