At bedroom level, I'm amazed it turned out that good. Used the Yamaha SA2200 here and some other stuff. Made the backing with Logic 8.

    Thanks!

I'm now listening to the original Dire Straits tune and I noticed that Mark's sound isn't as muffled as I thought it would be. I'll tweak a bit.

Very cool! What pickup position are you using for that?

Thanks a lot! I used the neck humbucker, of course Tone pot about 8 and volume on 9.

Ah, sorry, I thought it would be a strat type guitar, just checked out what an SA2200 looks like! You got a fairly close version of Mark's tone with that!

That guitar has sustain and tone in spades. I really dig this one. I also consider to play fingerstyle more often in the future, no pick will give you that sound.

Thanks! It's a killer song for sure.

I made the backing myself with Logic 8 and the instruments which Logic 8 comes with. I'm thinking about recording the whole song or at least creating the whole backing track. Next thing I'd like to try is a Jeff Beck inspired version of "A day in the life"

Knopfler recorded BIA with a P90-equipped Les Paul, so it's not unimaginable.
    Nice improv, SS.

Thanks a ton! I improved my timing and set the intonation on the guitar right. If these 2 things are alright it sounds more "pro", no matter what you play. That's what I noticed.

Thanks a lot Ocifer! I didn't know Mark used P90s on this! Well, I need a P90 LP then
