anyone got a wiring diagram for hum sing sing with no tone or volume. only thing i really need is where the cap. goes. i'm thinking i jump it from the hot leads on the pups to the bridge ground. but i'm not sure.

maybe i cant do this. do i have to have the resistor properties from atleast a volume pot.

i'm only trying this becouse the my uncle never touches the vol. or tone. so why even put them there. plus i cant get any pots untill monday. and i need it working tonight.

You don't need the cap at all if you're not doing a tone control.
That said, it'll be a bit brighter with no controls than with controls on full.

thats what i'm trying to figure out. i'm gonna have to take some of the highs out. the bucker is a tone zone. so it's it's kinda bright as it is. there has to be away to tone it down a little.

does this look about right? forgive the sloppiness

A pot is just a variable resistor. You could for-go the pot and install a fixed resistor. In theory.

Just replace the volume pot with an inline resistor and ground your pick up grounds to an appropriate ground.

so do i sent the grounds to the bridge ground or the jack ground

My recomendation is to ground the jack if you have the length of wire. Direct to the source that way.

that will work, thanks alot man. now to figure what kind of resistor to put in the path

Does your uncle normally just leave the pots full open?

If it is too bright using just the resistor you should be able to shunt some of the highs to ground with a capacitor and resistor in series across the jack terminals, to simulate a tone pot on full.

ok it's done. i put a cap in between the hots to the bridge ground.( dont know if it does any good.) it is alittle high but not compared to a ceramic pup. the humbucker is a air zone not tone zone. it's good enough for him. he likes em bright anyways. thanks for the help guys.

i may just do that.

What kind of switch do you want to use? If you tell me what kind of switch I will diagram it.
