Stoner Rock and Stoner Metal are interchangeable terms describing sub-genres of rock and metal music. Stoner rock is typically slow-to-mid tempo, low-tuned and bass-heavy. It incorporates elements of Psychedelic Rock, Blues-Rock and Doom Metal into a more repetitive and riff-centred style. Melodic vocals and 'retro' production are also common traits.

Here's my list:
1. Pink Floyd – The Dark Side of the Moon (1)
2. Queen – A Night at the Opera (40)
3. Deep Purple – Machine Head (20)
4. Led Zeppelin – II (11)
5. Eagles – Hotel California (38)
6. Dire Straits – Dire Straits (-)
7. Thin Lizzy – Jailbreak (-)
8. The Who – Who’s Next (35)
9. Black Sabbath – Master of Reality (43)
10. Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble – In Step (-)
I think 7 out of 10 is pretty good, but I cannot understand why Dire Straits' debut didn't get too many votes. Well, I guess the other albums by them are more popular here.

1. Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon (1)
2. Frank Zappa - One Size Fits All
3. Bjork - Homogenic
4. Sleater-Kinney - All Hands On The Bad One
5. Led Zeppelin - IV (4)
6. Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
7. The Doors - The Doors
8. Beatles - White Album (26)
9. Prince - Sign O' The Times
10. Meat Puppets - Up On The Sun
I predicted 30% or less.

I understand that this is a guitar forum, so the votes are definitely biased towards albums that feature guitar playing a lot. But still, I cannot understand the insanely high rankings of Appetite, VH I, Fair Warning, VH II, 1984, Dokken, and Satriani.
Even though only 2 of mine made it on the list, I'm still glad that I contributed to this. Nice work Keith!

About 70% of the top 10 was very predictable:
The Dark Side of the Moon
Appetite for Destruction
Van Halen
Led Zeppelin IV
The Wall
Master of Puppets
Are You Experienced?

Yes, very nice work, Keith!

Bungalow Bill asked me to post his top ten. Here it is, in order from most to least favorite:

At Fillmore East - Allman Brothers Band, The
Wheels of Fire - Cream
Blow by Blow - Jeff Beck
Machine Head - Deep Purple
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd

7 Red – King Crimson
8 Magic and Loss – Lou Reed
9 Songlines – Derek Trucks Band
10 Superunknown - Soundgarden
Thanks for all the hard work PUH!
PS I'm really glad Jazz and Afropop were excluded, that would have made my choices ultra-difficult.

Great work, PUH.
I got five on the list:
1. Van Halen -Fair Warning
2. Aerosmith -Rocks
3. Chris Whitley -Dirt Floor
4. MC5 -Kick out the Jams
5. Faces -a nod's as good as a wink
6. Rolling Stones -sticky fingers
7. Matthew Sweet -Girlfriend
8. Steely Dan -Aja
9. Verve -Urban Hymns
10. Beatles -Revolver
The list itself is pretty much what I'd expect from this forum. Heavy on the classic rock and metal and light on the indie/alternative. Funny to see a Ratt album in any top albums list but that does represent a part of the forum membership.
Pretty much every album in the top 100 is awesome in some way or other, though. I could easily have replace the five which didn't make it from mine with five that did.
...but I guess just me and Wattage voted MC5...
