Default FS: Late 80s Charvel body.

For a project I wanted to happen but never will happen....I believe it is alder, typical Charvel neck pocket. Swimming pool rout and holes are there for Floyd.
This body is in good but NOT perfect condition.

$50 shipped in the ConUS. Paypal only.

    The neck pocket should be 2 1/4" if it's a J/C body. If it's 2 3/16", anything goes.

I'm thinking it's not. Wrong body style for a Model series with that hard edge. And I don't think a toothpaste logo Charvel ever came looking like that.

the neck pocket is 2 1/4" - any other companies using that? could it be just a knock off?

Given the funky forearm cut, and the style of paint, I suspect it is a plywood copy.

Are the edges on the back as sharp as the ones on the front?

My Aria Pro II's from the 80s are 2 1/4". A Jackson neck fits perfect in these.

here is the reply regarding this item:

My brother (ebay user id: Mott98) and I split the guitar. We bought it in Northern Virginia at a local music store a while back. it's a Charvel model 2. The auction for the neck plate and screws were item #

    180385568857

Now, he sold the neck also on Ebay but the buyer must not have left FB as I can't find the completed auction. It was a Charvel MIJ pointy neck that had some sort of little added on decal that the previous owner had glued on. Now, the Model 2 had a cheaper trem system than the higher line models and why someone had drilled posts for a "Floyd" do you are seeing that. It's a Charvel, just one of the lower lines. That universal route in the body is pure mid-late- 80's MIJ Charvel.
I've been looking and can't find the neck that came off of this body in closed Ebay auctions, but I'll try to get them item number from him tomorrow and forward that to you so that you can see the neck as well. The auction for the neck ended on or around August 5th.
But it really is a an MIJ Charvel body. BTW there also weren't many 2.25" neck pockets out ther in the 80's. I'm actually surprised someone is telling you that it isn't real.

I don't remember model 2s ever having that sharp an edge, or having a crackle finish/pickguard combo.

    Googleing around now...

Well I can I find plenty of Charvel model series with crackle finishes, but none with a guard.

Could be a repaint of course, and there were not many guitars with that neck pocket.

It is solid wood, then it is nothing a paint job can't fix.

yea, he said specifically that the poaint job is a refinish so i guess the next thing to find out is - is it solid wood?!

    Aha!

That is a Charvel CX body, and probably a CX391.

The good news is I am pretty sure all the CX models were solid wood (basswood).
