definitely more 'stratty' in parallel, IMO
Okay; I tried that. Not impressed. The tone is thin and slightly out of phase thin. The volume drop is enormous , to the point that with the other pickup, the other one dominates easily. The volume diff. from one to the other is greatly noticable. This does not happen in series.

    To quote myself.
I've fooled around with pole magnets and found that if you orientate the magnets north in both coils, north, parralell sounds a lot better.
That's how my Dimarzio Distortions with the Neodimiums are setup and how they were before the neo's. All Poles North. It's a much thicker stronger sound for a parralell connection. Sounds tinny in series.

Not at all. The Stag Mag in parallel sounds like a single, but humbucking. Not exactly the same as split, but close. It's a good sound.
Sorry, personally it sounds like a thin single and pretty much as I expected. I didn't expect the massive volume drop though.

I've got the Stag Mag connected to a tapped pot at the moment. It's connected normally for series except that the two inner coil leads go to the tap. It takes you from single to series in around half sweep of the pot. Fun stuff. At Half [ right on the tap point ] it's a single coil, at full it's in series humbucking. Of course it blends between those two points. You also get single coil noise at the tap point.

Single coil is the closest fender sound in this pup, to me.

Is that with a linear pot?

I can't be sure exactly but it is most likely an Audio Taper [ Logarithmic ].
The pot itself is a replacement for a volume in a stereo amp. It's a dual gang, 250k, and the tap sits at about 60/40 % of the range from zero to full.I'm only using one section of the dual ganging.

The tapped pot when it's used in audio amp is to bleed off the Loudness control. I can see that such a pot can have a few possible wirings and uses. The Single/Dual is the first thing I've tried it with.
I'm wondering how it might work with a treble bleed setup? Or a tapped Single Coil.

Fralin P-92 has single coil properties...I've heard his Twangmaster totally does it
