I'm actually going to see them tonight so we will see. Doppleganger wasn't my thing (too hardcore/lots of screaming...lots of good material but I've never been able to listen to it all), Manipulator had its moments (and not moments), Phantom on the Horizon (redone ghostship demos) was absolutely f-ing brilliant.
The new Russian Circles is really good as well.

Oh, and the new Converge absolutely crushes. Loads of amazing guests. Shame the artwork blows.

Just finished up Sleep's Holy Mountain. Having trouble on what I should make the afternoon...
Secret Machines?
Radiohead?

Jimmy Thackery- Wild Nite Out
Clapton- Crossroads Vol. II
Gov't Mule- The Deepest End
New Atreyu has been getting the most listens this week...

Bud Powell: The Amazing Bud Powell, vol. 2
An amazing jazz pianist, one of the very best along with Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, Thelonius Monk, Bill Evans, McCoy Tyner and maybe some others.
John Coltrane & Kenny Burrell
Great jazz, a lot more traditional than Coltrane of the time usually was.
Brahms: Symphony 3, violin concerto in D, Hungarian dance for piano, 4 hands
Brahms wrote some of the best melodies ever. Many of them are in these pieces.
Dvorák: Symphony 9
Rory Gallagher: Blueprint
A great blues/rock album by Rory, good variety of styles
Dire Straits: Dire Straits
What needs to be said about this one? If you're reading this and don't know the album, get it now. Just amazing playing by Mark Knopfler, great tunes, great soloing, good vocals and a classic Strat tone.

new AIC and porcupine tree are getting played a lot, also 'tarantism' (tito and tarantula), squirrel nut zippers and some electro-funk stuff
want to pick up some new stuff and a good bottle of red today; any suggestions for dirty/experimental jazz/blues/big band? my taste for it isn't terribly sophisticated as yet

It was refreshing to see Australians abroad, sober. I almost didn't recognise them.
Funkfingers, in response to some highy questionable spam:
When this forum talks about getting wood, we're usually thinking of flamed maple.
Mike Hastings, 14th Earl of Loudoun:
I reckon I might send Lizzie a bill for back rent. The old girl's family have been living in my bloody castle for the last 500 years.
