    Default Quick Spin-A-Split Q

    Hey guys...

So I am planning on making a Custom/JB hybrid, and using a spin-a-split..

Is there anyway to swap between which coil I am splitting to?

    Cheers
    Mike

you can do this using a spdt switch. connect the common terminal of the switch to your spin-a-split pot (which I assume is connected to your red/white pair of pickup wires). The other 2 terminal from the spdt switch go to the green and black pickup wires. The spdt switch will now select which coil you want to spin-a-split. (note: this is based on duncan color codes).

Edit: You could instead use an on-off-on 3-way switch and have a no-split middle position.

pps: If you want, you could used separate pots for the coils, to keep from having to re-adjust when switching. Don't know if you want to get quite that complicated tho.

Just be sure to post about how it works out for you.

I will Just had to be sure I could do this. Can only afford to import a JB trembucker for now. Going to put an A2 in it and stick it in my strat. Then next time I import I will get a custom and make my hybrid

I am thinking of putting the custom side towards the bridge as I don't want that fat a tone..

    Any input otherwise?

    Thanks man
    Mike

Can't think of anything else, as I don't have 1st hand experience w/ the custom or the JB. I've been wanting to try a spin-a-split myself, but probably with a PRails. I asked for input on that in a previous thread, but no responses yet. Will probably bump in another few weeks.

I hear a lot of guys say the clean tone of the JB sucks. I like it :| I guess tone is just subjective.

I think you just solder the green and black wires together, the white is your new hot lead, red = new ground.
