The First PRS I've Ever Liked

Derek St. Holmes (cat who used to sing for Nugent) lives around here and comes to my store to shop...he's been makin payments on a really sick R8 and has been trading in gear he doesn't use for it.

Yesterday he brought in a PRS Mira that Mr. Reed Smith actually built for him...since he plays in the Paul Reed Smith band and all...

It definitely lives up to the hype...the first one i ever played that did.

It's quickly becoming the favorite guitar in my shop...we were basically fighting over who got to play it next, despite all the other PRSi and custom shop Gibsons on the wall...hahaha

any moving parts, or will I need to add a battery-powered motor to it? people are going to need safety glasses, there's going to be a lot of woodchips flying around. it's going to sound like a lumbermill running at full capacity.

It's a pretty solid piece of metal, so no moving parts. The good news though is that you could use it as a bore head on a device attached to your person.

haha, I went to the prs experience last moth, and there was this guy with a jacket covered with metel studs. Im talking not a single square inch without any. so he went around the place trying out the $3000+ guitars, all the staff were getting ticked off

A fried of mine with (in my opinion) too much money to spend had 4 PRS's at one time including a McCarty and a single cut. I couldn't stand any of them. Too pretty and they all sounded totally dead. I mean sort of lifeless, dull and uninspiring. Is it me or was he just very unlucky ?

In my experience that's pretty much par for the course with PRS guitars...really pretty, nice pieces of wood, covered in plastic so they sound like guitars 1/8th their price...

So EP, any specific reason you like this one better than the other Miras? Or is it just the fact that it's a master built instrument that just ''lives''?

Y'know how most PRS guitars are too pretty, sort of lifeless, dull, and uninspiring?

This one is ugly, inspiring, and alive.

I really dig the Mira's they have always been a real players guitar imo. I also dig simplicity in the looks of a guitar so they have always been sexy to me, especially in the baby blue color they come in... love it..

He was unlucky, my PRS SE Singlecut Soapbar is so resonant that when I play it, I always check my pocket out of habit, thinking my phone is vibrating. Yeah, really.

I recently rekindled my flame for that axe, it's crazy how fun that guitar is.
