Exclamation Gibson Melody Maker Blackout HELP

Hello all i am havin trouble with installin a bridge seymour duncan in my melody maker it was passive so i removed the ground from the tailpiece but it still humms like hell. I used all parts the pickup came with and the one volume one tone set up instructions but i have no toggle because the guitar is a single pickup so i was also wonderin where the heck to put the white wire maybe thats the problem. Also im sure that all the wires are connected just fine ive installed pickups before but that was the DIMEBUCKER and was pretty simple. all help is greatly needed thanks

    Welcome to the forum.

On a single pickup guitar, the white output cable from your Blackout pickup should go directly to the input leg of the volume pot.

The Support section of the main Seymour Duncan website ought to have a schematic diagram for the installation that you have attempted to perform.

As you can see, the bridge grounding wire is required.

Post pics of the guitar, if you have them. By now, you've probably got it sorted out, but a lot of us are curious to see your Blackout equipped Melody Maker.
