    Kinda lifeless. I had a Dually Red, and it felt very inorganic and flat sounding.

    Er, depends upon which version you are testing. Also depends to some extent upon the instrument into which they are fitted.

    +1 on the Red/Red being a duff combination. The 1990s Fender Telecaster Deluxe had this fitted as standard. It did not suit that instrument - with either hardtail or vibrato bridge.

    I have a Red/Blue Dually on my modified Fender Am Std Stratocaster. I like the Red coil for overdriving a valve amp. By itself, the Blue coil near the bridge is a bit weedy. Combined with other Sensors in series is another story!

    Generally speaking, the closed top Sensors lack the zing of a Fender true single coil pickup. I cannot comment on the exposed polepiece "Holy Grail" Sensors because I have never tried them.
