it might not bother you - and if it doesn't, i am happy for you
but it is kinda rude to say that the situation described by others doesn't exist
there is undeniably an unfair element of randomness that could otherwise be controlled out of the process ... it is not present because anyone involved is a bad person or has intentionally done a bad thing ... but it is nonetheless present ... and some consider it a problem

Just my 2c
I understand that everybody wishes to have the fairest way of getting the best riffs (riffologists) to the top, and therefore become the winner. I see the merit in the points system, however it does entail more work required to set each competition up, and increased work at the end of each poll to add up the results. Even then, you may get a tied result.
My view is that although this is a 'competition', the main role of the Riff Off is to get people playing, and using the constructive critisism to help improve as players. The competition side of it is really just a bit of fun.
It's a shame that a few more people don't pop in, vote and leave their opinions, but I think we can all agree that those taking part are getting a great deal out of the experience.
Finally, a thanks to Keith and all of his efforts in running the competition, and to all the participants for all of their excellent endeavors.



I say leave it like it is --- it has flaws, but gosh darn it, they're OUR flaws!
I'm proud of our riff offs, and all those that run / participate / vote! Go SDUGF!
