Lightbulb Schecter Export and Custom Series?!

Just about an hour or so ago I received what had been mentioned in one of the Guest Luthier Series when Michael Ciravolo said that for 2010 they were planning of introducing a semi-custom line of guitars.

    This is what I received:

I had yet another reason to be glad since like Mr Ciravolo said, there is a C-1 FR and this one has an Ebony fretboard!!!

Upon clicking the link however I was sent to the Schecter home page which had one new feature. It asked whether the visitor was from the US or the rest of the world and upon choosing the later there was an additional entry; the Schecter Export Series.
What the? Weren't all Diamond Series models Made in Korea?

At first glance, what these appear to me to be is the low-end stuff, possibly made in Indonesia or China. However they don't really look cheap, at least not spec-wise. FR Special and TOMs and Duncan Designed active pus.

Kinda like Schecter was trying to group the Goth versions of their designs all under one umbrella and instead of calling it the Gothic Series they called it the Export Series.

Whatever the case may be the guys over at Schecter came through with their plans for 2010 and apparently there's more than a few things to be happy about

I always loved the "Schecter Guitar Research" name... what are they researching?

I didn't see an MSRP on the c-1 series. Any idea on price?

I would love to get a custom tempest. Those guitars sound great. It is also very cool that both pickups come coil tapped.

any clue why schecter went with vintage frets on the custom series? imo, they ought to install some extra jumbo stainless steel frets.

Honestly that's the part that caught my attention as well, however knowing as some people use the same term to refer to quite different things, I'm not gonna knock em until I've tried them

I normally don't care for the looks of the Tempest models, but I kind of like the looks of those Tempest Standards.
