    Default PATB-3 VS Pearly Gates?

Would somebody be kind enough to school me on the PATB-3? I love the PG in my Les Paul, and I'm looking for something in that vain to put into my basswood ESP. The ESP is HSS, so I'd also be looking at the PA stacks for the neck and middle.

    Thank guys!

those two pups are fairly different but i like them both. the patb3 is kinda like an overwound 59 with the pa poles which give it a little more modern tone. i have one and like it alot, i think its an over looked gem in the line

Yeah the PATB is a overwound PAF, but compared to the Brobucker much clearer and these special 'Parallel Axis' piano like lows. Greats string separation and cut, while the Brobucker is a bit muffled to my taste. Lesser Growl than the Brobucker. Sorry cant compare the the PG, i have a only a PG+.
I have a PATB-3 in my parts drawer and it will stay there until i find the right guitar for it, because i like it. They are the best fit for Floyd guitar, so they say.
