    Default Silence the buzz!

Im getting my Burny LP dialed in.. Got some BK rebel yells in it and new pots and caps as I removed an EMG ZW set. Sounding great! Except..one the bridge pup. If Im holding the strings, silence.. If I let go, buzz/60cycle hum type of sound... Ive wired everything per diagrams with the pups and on line here.. How can I ground it?
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

The EMG pickup assembly required no bridge grounding wire. It may have been removed (or tucked away and insulated) when the EMGs were installed. For passive pickups, you need to reconnect that bridge grounding wire to a grounding point within the control cavity. e.g. A pot chassis.

yeah, there was a very stiff wire that sticks out in the cavity that is for that purpose. It isnt long enough to reach the pot, so I tried to solder a length of wire to it and then to the pot.. guess that failed..

is there another thing I can rig up??

Those solid core grounding wires can be a pig to solder. By how much is the bridge grounding wire short of the neck PU volume or tone pots?

This is normal. Guitar manufacturers with very rare exceptions don't shield guitars. They abuse your belly (or in the case of Les Paul slingers balls) for shielding by grounding your body.

If it is more than normal, make sure the pickup baseplaces are grounded (4-conductor wire's shield must be grounded in addition to one wire grounded).

If you don't like it you need to shield the electronics cavity.
