in the current issue of guitar world,dave mustaine was interviewed and he mentioned the s.duncan are devoloping new pup's for him.does anywho know about this?

Unfortunately, we can't comment on the pickup at this point. But I guess the cat is part-way out of the bag (thankyouverymuchdave).

Guys, I hate to say it, but there's very little I can tell you about this project. Except that all your guesses are wrong. Way wrong.

And, at least for the first year or two of its release, the only way to get the pickup will be to buy the ESP Mustaine model guitar.

OK, I've said enough about this. This is my last post on the subject. Sorry I can't comment anymore.

I don't think Dave would get a pickup that's bassy... He always talks about the tone spectrum and how it's better for the guitars to stay in the upper range to leave room for the bass and drums. I forget what issue of guitar world he said that in.. I think it was one or two months ago.

That's interesting, what's wrong with his sound right now? I read him talking about the most amazing tone on the DV8. With the new model and the Flame DV8s, we're now finding out he'll be using custom shop pick ups? What's next, the amps?

I'll always prefer his The World Needs a Hero sound over any of his sounds, any day. I never was a huge fan of his playing, but man that tone is just to die for!
