Default Does Anyone Here Like High on Fire?

I'm a huge fan. I've seen 'em twice, and was lucky enough to briefly meet Matt once. I'm a fan of Sleep also.

Anyway, I picked up the new disk and really like it. There's a couple meaty breakdowns, which you don't hear a lot of in their previous work. Even a couple of slowish songs. And the faster ones are heavier and faster, if that was even possible lol. Overall, a total success. Best album I've heard in 2010 so far IMO.

I bought it but haven' listened to it all yet. I think they're a great band. Death Is This Communion is a great metal album.

I saw them open up for Opeth. They were on of the worst opening bands I've ever seen. The FOH system didn't sound too great why they played, so I'd have to go back and give them another listen. But the lead singer does have a tramp stamp, that's about the only thing I remember from their set.

I generally like 3 or 4 songs from each of their albums, but I didn't care for their last one much.

GREAT band. Been a fan of them since Blessed Black Wings, which made me go back and revisit Sleep with fresh ears as well.

The new one is good. It didn't hit me as hard as Death is this Communion right off the bat, but I'm coming around to it. "Bastard Samurai" is one of the coolest / eeriest songs I've heard in a LOOONG time.

Saw them just before Blessed Black Wings was released, just before Death is This Communion was released, just after Death is This Communion was released, and the Sleep reunion last year. Yeah, bit of a fan of those guys.

I'm not a Lemmy fan either, coincidentally

Add in a Howard Jones-type singer and you've got a great band, IMO.
