    Default Pickups for Ibanez Iceman

    Hi,
I am looking to replace the pickups in my Ibanez Ic400. At the moment it currently has an Invader in the bridge and the stock pup in the neck.
I want to swap out the Invader with something a little brighter as it i just way too dark at the moment (guitar is mahogany, pickup just isn't a good match). So, I've been thinking sh-6 in the bridge to even out the tone a little but I wanted some suggestions on a good neck pickup.
I had the Jazz in mind but thought, hey, let's ask the good people of the SD forums lol.
I usually use the neck pup for cleans and distorted lead playing (I play metal but play in standard or half step down) any help is much appreciated.
    cheers.

Custom for the bridge and JAZZ for the neck.

I love the JAZZ for high gain leads and clean rhythms and it has great clarity and it will keep it with low tunings also.

I recently replaced the stock Dimarzio D-Activators in my Ibanez Iceman ICT700 for the Full Shred Bridge and Neck. The Full Shred is the perfect complement IMO to the weighty slab of mahogany found on the Iceman. The Full Shred Neck has the same articulation as the Jazz but with a slightly deeper bass to my ears which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE !! The Full Shred Bridge is EXTREMELY TIGHT and is perfect for drop tunings IMO. I tune to Drop C and use DR .10 -.56 gauge strings. After getting the Shreds in I did what any player would do first..... SPINAL TAPPED THAT $HIT TO 11 and hit an open C chord.....ROOOOAAAAARRRR!!!!! Take it from me... you might wanna drop the browns off at the superbowl before ya do that... if ya know what I mean LOL. In all honesty try the Full Shred Set in your Iceman you won't be disapointed !!!

I have an IC400 and I swapped my pickups for a set of SD Blackouts. They sound incredible in the iceman - if you're looking for a good hot pickup, definitely check 'em out. They're pretty quiet too.

Cool i was looking at blackouts funnily enough (in general not for this guitar) ive never played any active pups, but ive not really been a huge fan of the sound of EMG (ive seen WAY too many local bands with EMGs in Les Pauls lol)

How do they compare to the sound of EMGs, theyre described as being more organic etc would you agree?

Been tossing up the 59 over the Jazz some people say its alot bassier than the Jazz and is a bit muddy under gain. What styles of music do you play?

For a great all-around guitar, Custom 5 or Custom in the bridge, and '59 in the neck. The Full Shred set (which is the Custom 5 and Jazz, with double hex screws) is also great, and would sound monstrous yet clear with that massive slab o' wood; think Opeth with more weight.

They're definitely not as tinny. The blackouts have a nice full, warm sound to them on the clean channel. They squeal for days with the lead channel on.
