Here is a strange one...
THE LOST ART OF BEING STOIC
1. Quit your whining.
2. Quit your crying.
3. Suck it up.
If in doubt, ask yourself: What would Clint do?
what about riffs?
i wish puddle of mudd and nickelback got into a knife fight.

Well, the title of this thread certainly wasn't plagiarized.

Plaguerism? Sounds like fun!
Alkaline Trio is much older. The thing is - I KNOW both Tom Delonge and Tim Armstrong have to be familiar with Alkaline Trio, and probably that song. Yet they still blatantly stole that riff. This was around the point where I began losing faith in Tom Delonge's songwriting abilities.
Videos aint working bro.
And Tom Delonge was the very reason I picked up the guitar in the first place - learning Dude Ranch and Enema front to back was how I even learned to play the darn instrument in the first place. Just, IMO, he hasn't made a single good album since Take Off Your Pants And Jacket. It's cool if you disagree, but his playing since then does nothing for me, save for like the three or four ok songs off of S/T.
vids are fixed. dude, the last blink 182 record is the greatest by far. i own the score and tab for it, and its like my bible.
i love alkaline trio too, theres nothing wrong about punk rock, les pauls and marshalls, but i just wanted to point out that they arent so innocent themselves.
**** happens all the time.
Those clips are definitely similar, but not quite the same as a note-for-note ripoff. I mean, it's punk rock, a lot of our shizzz sounds the same.
But yeah, we're on total opposite ends with that S/T blink album then. Keep in mind, Tom was my first ever guitar hero - I own every single record of theirs, even the vinyl stuff that never went on cd ("They Came To Conquer Uranus", anyone?) I think the only thing of theirs I don't own is the original Short Bus EP, which is long discontinued. I'll always be a Blink 182 fan - I just really did not care for the S/T album. It's like halfway through writing it Tom decided he wanted to be Robert Smith...something he still tries to do with Angels and Airwaves, a band I realllllly don't care for.

whatever it's all over the place. Really there are only so many progressions and such you can do, at some point it's going to start being recycled unless people actively attempt to create something new. Page has always been accused of copying ****, basically he's said yeah, I've been copying licks just like every blues player ever has been. It's inevitable and always will happen. To me it's pathetic when you have people blatantly ripping people off but there is always going to be "hey, that sounds like that" going on forever
