Default any wiring gods care to help?

I have searched high and low for a solution to this issue. I'm not really savvy with wiring. I have a KC100 Washburn with two duncan singles and one jd hb? The wiring was goofed when I bought it. Washburn doesn't seem to have the diagram for this model and no one has yet to be able to elaborate on what the board function is. I have been told it's an active mid-boost with 3 kill switches.

Anyways, I believe it is all correct except for one red wire coming off the boost (second wire from right) I also believe this may be a stereo guitar (three conductors on jack (orange, red, black)? I thought maybe since it was all Duncan pickups that maybe the board might be familiar to someone here. I'm ay my wits end trying to understand it and don't have a soul near me that can work on this. Any help would be awesome.

Not familiar with that model or its electronics.

However, looking at the pics, if that is a mid boost or gain boost, I'd say it's activated by the push/pull.

The middle knob should control the amount of the effect when engaged, and the 3 minis are On/Off for each pickup (hence the outer tabs on those switches would be free/open).

That's a stereo jack, but it's not wired for stereo output. The 3rd prong is so that power is applied when the cable is plugged in, but not when unplugged so the battery is not constantly draining.

Can't say what the loose red wire plug on the board would be, but it appears that at one time the outer prongs of the mini toggles had something attached to them.

Here's a diagram for 3 pickups with 3 mini toggles:

Here's one showing how the humbucker would normally be wired to the push/pull for splitting:

    Thanks for the reply!

I believe the mini's were just prepped for lead attachment on both sides for ease of installation. I think the humbucker is split off the push pull.

Yeah, if I could just understand what the loose red wire was supposed to do. lol

    Thanks again.

If anyone else cares to have a stab at it, by all means. heh

Given that the neighboring wires (black and brown) go to ground and tone, I'm wondering if the red one goes to the push/pull? Like maybe that actually turns the booster on, but a previous owner set it up so it splits the bridge instead (which would mean it wasn't originally meant to be split)?

Given that the red+white are only connected to one side of the switch whereas the other 2 wires go across the switch, I'd wager that's what happened.

As well, with the red+white where they are, the bridge looks like it's split while the knob is down, not up.

Those are 2-position mini-switches, correct? One's not a 3-way? If one were a 3-way, you could use that for the humbucker to get Split/Off/Series.

Anyway, remove the bridge split wires from the push/pull and connect the loose red wire to that spot. I bet the boost kicks in.

Hmm.. Ok, you have been giving me a lot to think about. I don't really want to get rid of the coil split.

Do I understand this right though, the push pull switch is a single throw double pole with the center pole being the ground. But the pot is just that, a volume pot. The volume pot has three pole that work in increments like a rheostat, so does there need to be something other than a ground on one of the three poles of the actual pot? :/

I have never seen one of these guitars before, so I can only comment on its current state based on the pics.

The push-pull definitely splits the bridge humbucker. It is in no way connected to the boost circuit. I have no idea if it's supposed to be, so I won't tell you to disconnect anything just yet.

I'm guessing the boost circuit is on all the time. I have no idea what the loose red wire is for. Does turning the tone knobs do anything?

The mini switches are also a bit of a puzzle. They definitely appear to have been modded in some way, most likely incorrectly. The bridge pup switch seems to have the bridge pup connecting to that terminal strip near the boost circuit regardless of what position the switch is in. I have no idea if that terminal strip is part of the boost or not - it's hard to tell from the pic. I see that a brown wire on the boost is connected to the same terminal strip. It's also interesting that the bridge pup switch is wired backwards compared to the other two.

    Questions:

    1. Does every pickup work?

    2. Do the tone knobs do anything?

    3. What seems to happen when you pull up the volume knob?

The push/pull is a double-pole/double-throw. The center pole is the Common, shared between the up and down. It appears as though that is grounded, however, so I'm confused as to how you're getting anything out of it.
As well, there are ground wires running to and from the output (center) of the volume knob. As it is, it looks like the humbucker is split all the time whether the push pull is up or down (split to inner coil, split to outer coil, but never humbucking).

The actual volume pot should be just like any other volume pot - one prong to ground, and another to output and receiving from the pickups. The third one (either center or outer) is usually free.

Disconnecting stuff is the best way to tell what does what.

The terminal strip you're seeing is the Tone knob. The board appears to have a hole in it which the Tone knob sits in, and its terminals extend just beyond the edge of the board. That blue wire appears to go to the center of the 3 minis, which is the common and thus makes it a Master Tone.
The middle knob should control the amount of the board's effect.

There's a guy in this thread who appears to have one. See if he's got a proper wiring diagram:

XISTH Information is the guy's name.

Omg! XISTH went way above and beyond to help me. He pulled his back cover and took about 15 killer pictures. The red goes to the middle volume knob tab and the black thats on there currently goes to the ground tab on the third kill switch.

So it looks to me like the Midboost affects everything at any given time just by turning the knob. The push pull splits the hb and the three singles are just kill switches.

Thank you all for your help. I couldn't have done it without you. I have searched and searched every night for weeks to no avail. I will have it done this coming weekend and report back if anyone's interested.

    Thank You Again.

Thanks for the template! Pretty close actually. I would upload the pictures, but there are like 10 closeups

I will solder the last 2 connections in the morning maybe, if I have time.
