What is UP with this guy?
It's hard to say anything else about him. His conditioning is obviously BAD, and yet he's been a terror thus far.
Thoughts?.. (I'm looking at you Mattt).![]()

Dude just keeps on winning. I'm not a big fan, but so far I can't say he's too bad.

He hits hard and he knows his ground game....he made old Kimbo Slice look like he didn't even know how to scrap and he knocked out 2 very well trained and respected fighters.....not TKOs...really knocked out.
Judging a book by it's cover isn't always productive.

I can see the TV value in what he's got going on (much like Tank had)... but I don't know how much of that is just gimmicky attention-garnering and how much of Roy is actual martial artist.
Yeah, time will tell I guess. I'm interested to see how he'd do against a Lesnar or Mir myself. In the meantime he's making bank and getting noticed at least.![]()

I like Roy. Hope he does well.
ROY VS. MIR
did you see his fight last night? 39sec TKO. he's throws some powerful blows. he reminds me of some of the founding fighters in UFC. back in the bare-knuckle days.

Actually I don't think his conditioning is much different then a lot of the other fighters. I watched a video of his training regiment and he does a lot of cardio & running as well as wrestling & grappling, but he packs a lot of power in that right hand. I just think he likes to eat like most people. He is a hell of a fighter!

Ah, s'all good.
I just haven't seen evidence of suckery as of yet. I do agree with Mattt that the gut will do nothing to help him. His stamina and flexibility especially are both going to suffer.
But who knows...he might be 6 months away from trimming down and getting serious about his conditioning, at which point he won't look much different from any of the other heavyweights.

That video above was pretty impressive, I gotta say. If Lesnar brushes up on his ground game, I don't think Nelson could touch him unless he gets a lucky shot in. Lesnar is a monster. We all saw how Nelson did against Mir in that vid, though. I think he could repeat that at the "big show". Mir's too cocky to the point of apathy these days, it seems. At UFC 111 last weekend, Mir just seemed careless in there. When he got dropped by Carwin that arena went nuts. I haven't heard that loud of an ovation at any event in years past. It was nuts. It had to come across loud on TV too. Just unreal being there.
