    Default selector switch problems

I have recently installed all new electrics, pots and pickups in my left handed telecaster. It is my first time installing and i put in a jerry donahue in the bridge and an aptr-1 in the neck. i had to use tracing paper to turn the schematic the right way for a left hand guitar and then when i finished and plugged it in it didnt work. The only time i get a sound of of the guitar and it plays is when the selector switch is half way between its new selection (out of place) but when it clicks back into a new selection the sound goes back off. N e ideas?

    Hi, welcome to the forum!

Could you take a photo of your control cavity? That might help identify the problem.

The electronics for a left handed guitar should be exactly the same as for a right handed guitar. This is the diagram you want: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support...=standard_tele

Gingrel is correct about the selector switch connections being the same for either handedness. Hermetico is correct about reversing ONLY the pot leg connections for LH use.

The only other stipulation that I would make is that you probably have no choice but to use Linear taper pots.
