Default DDJ without SD carving on the back?

hey everybody, i have a pickup here that i bought used many years ago as a SD sh-6, bridge. i was young, never bothered to check on its authenticity. sounded awesome also. now i'm having it transferred from one guitar to another and looked at it closer for the first time; overall build and looks are same as all sh-6's i found online, it has a DDJ sticker on back that looks original, also doesn't look look like it had been taken off a pickup and then applied to this one (at least to my eyes). whats funny is that it has no seymour duncan logo/name carving on the metal back. it doesn't have the name on top also, but i understand that wasn't introduced until a few years ago? is this pickup likely to be fake, or were there once SD pickups without that back carving? unfortunately, i have no photos here right now.
    thanks in advance, dudes

I think they used to just be bare but I could be wrong. Someone around here will be able to help you out.

Seems authentic to me. I don't know when we switched to the logo'd baseplate, but it wasn't there all the time.

I have a couple of older Duncans like that too, should be okay.

Can you check the DC resistance?

i'm absolutely clueless when it comes to electrical stuff, i'm having the pickup change done by the local shop. all i can say is that the pickup spent the last 9 (?) years in an epiphone LP special II, always worked nice, always sounded awesome.

Ask them to check the DC resistance.

    It should be around 16.6K.

will do. will that show that it's an original SD?

If Frank thinks it seems authentic, and you get a similar DC reading, I think you can rest easier.

It will only show that the DC Resistance matches an orginal SD Distortion.

Look at the magnet. Should be oversized (compared to another pickup) ceramic.

I've seen JB's and 59's from the 80's that look just like you described your DD. It's probably kosher.
    Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.
