Whats your favorite p90 in the neck position? It doesn't have to be duncan! I'm in the market for a p90 with a pristine clean tone.

I recently had the oportunity to strum a Collings that has a set of Lollar P-90's and they sounded beautiful.

" you tell it like you're barefoot while you wear those hundred dollar shoes. Yeah, you can shuck and jive me all ya want to but, please please please, don't tell me 'bout the blues!"......Buddy Guy
I could live with any of the previous suggestions but my money went on a pre-owned SD Antiquity on my Gibson and the stock Duncan Designed unit on my Squier Tele Custom II.
Having recently experimented with various stacked-coil imposters, I can vouch for the fact that single coil, modest output is the way to go.
I'm not the hugest P-90 user in the world and I know more about humbuckers than Strat singles and know more about Strat singles than P-90s. So P-90s aren't really up to par with my knowledge of other pickups. I think that might turn around soon though. P-90s have the perfect blend of fatness, clarity, and bite. It's like a humbucker and single wrapped into one. The perfect neck pickup for me.
Now that I'm done with that I really like the Gibson P-90s. I don't have any guitars with P-90s but I have played them. Not too many guitars come with the Duncans stock I think but dont quote me on that. I've played some P-90 Les Pauls, some Les Paul Juniors, and etc. from Gibson. Really wouldn't change the pickups but then again I never played it in my own rig so I can't really pass too much judgement.
For me to say I like a Gibson pickup its a stretch. They're my least favorite pickup manufacturer but I liked their P-90s. Odds are though I'd get some stacked Duncan P-90s. I don't want all that hum.
PRS (USA) soapbar models come with Duncan-sourced P-90s - albeit in an unexpected combination. I plan to "borrow" their idea for my Gibson LP Junior Special.![]()

i actully really like gibson p90's!
our first drummer died in a bizzare gardening accident!
I won't dance in a club like this,
'Cause all the girls are sluts,
And the beer tastes just like piss.
I'm a big fan of the DiMarzio Bluesbucker in the neck.

For the neck, a recent stock Gibson is 95% there...very good for the money since there are lots of pulls floating around.
