Question 2 Vintage Rails/Duckbuckers with a higher output bridge HB?

Can anyone share any experiences you've had with this? Did it work well for you? I'm toying with the idea of an Everything Axe set in my Carvin Bolt (swamp ash body, maple/maple neck), but I'm not sure about the Lil '59 in the neck or JB Jr. in the bridge just yet. I love the full-size JB's tonality in particular for the bridge position. I'm wanting fairly authentic Strat tones in pos's 2&4, as well as the neck position. I'm ok with the neck position being a little more muscular, so long as it's more of a fatter single-coil kinda tone as opposed to a neck HB tone (side note: I'm not really convinced that I like the Cool Rails in the neck, based on what I've listened to for myself).

I've listened to this clip and this clip on Youtube, and I'm really liking the tonality of the Vintage Rails/Duckbuckers in neck/mid positions, but I'm also asking people about this and getting a lot of feedback about a higher output HB like the JB not balancing well in this way (people seem to resort to a more medium output HB like the DiM PAF Pro or something).

Any feedback? TIA for your help.

    Chris

I played a Ty Tabor Yamaha a while ago with a VR/VR/JB set up a while back. tonally, all the pickups mesh together well, but there is a big output jump going from mid to bridge. It's cool if you're going from a slightly dirty rythm to full on crunch, IMHO.

That's interesting...so is it safe to say that this is not-so-much the case with a JB Jr. instead of a full-size JB? Youtube clips of the Everything Axe set I've watched don't appear to have this issue. Just curious...all I can do is become better informed. :-D

I decided to take the plunge and try the Everything Axe set...we'll see how it goes!
