How exactly do you make an "eq'd" cable?

There's practically no inductance in a cable. Series resistance will be negligible (and largely irrelephant given the low signal level), so it's only the capacitance that makes any difference. Higher capacitance means more treble loss, lower capacitance means less.

I use the Livewire cables fro Guitar Center. Lifetime warrantied, and they sound fine to me. Been abusing them for a while and never once had an issue.

For speaker cables, I buy the biggest gauge I can afford, regardless of length.

There are bigger issues out there then cables. For example, I often find that most of my sonic frustrations area actually due to a lack of technique on the instrument, rather than cables.

That's generally true, but there are exceptions:

Now, now, Sporky. It appears as if you might just possibly be extracting the micturation.

So, is that an African irrelephant or an Indian irrelephant?

For guitar cables less than 15' there's not much difference. I use 30' cables and there is a very real difference in cables, mainly in the treble transmission. A poor quality cable will sound relatively dead (in the high frequencies). A year or so ago I did quite a bit of testing of cables 20'-30' long (15-20 cables). Two of the best (very noticeably better than the others) were Mogami and Fender Gold Premium.

But admittedly, it doesn't matter what cable you use if you play with so much mud and distortion that you can't even tell what key you're in.

You'll notice a big difference with speaker cable, a decent difference with guitar cable and a very small difference with power cable.

    Howdy,

Does size matter? I'm not sure, but recently I overheard the following exchange between a redneck husband and wife at a car dealership as they were considering a fullsize truck:
    Wife: "Git the V8"
Husband: "Why not save some money with the base V6?"
Wife: "Cuz thar hain't nooo substitute fer cubic eynches!"
