Cool Hot Stack Wiring for sole Pup in guitar

I am seeking confirmation that I have installed an old Hot Stack P/up in my charvel surfcaster correctly. It is the only pickup on the guitar ( removed neck P/up).I have studied the various wiring diagrams available online and have installed thus: red & white wires soldered together and insulated; black wire to volume pot (no switch active on guitar) and green/bare to earth.
It all works but due to my relative inexperience in such matters I want to confirm that I have the hottest output and hum cancelling active from the P/Up without a lot of pulling apart and rewiring to test various setups.
    ANy replies greatly appreciated!

Yes. The wiring that you have described is regular full output, hum-cancelling operation.

Boost mode is louder but cannot cancel hum. (IMO, it does not sound particularly good either.)

Thanks for your thoughts - much appreciated! Just out of interest how would one configure the wiring setup for boost mode?

This schematic is the Tele version. http://www.seymourduncan.com/support...ost_tele_stack On a single PU guitar, you can ignore most of it.
