    Default bridge vs. neck PU

    Hi

    A quick on from Denmark....
I´m looking for a PU for my Japan Custum Strat (only 1 Humbucker, in bridge pos.)
I normaly like to play with the PU switch in midle pos. on my other guitars.
To get a fat warm sound i thinkin about using a neck PU in the Bridge Pos.?
    Is that a good idea?

    welcome to the forum!

the reason neck pups sound warm and fat is due to their physical position, not the pup itself. a neck pup is typically brighter and lower output than its bridge counterpart so putting a neck pup in the bridge of your guitar will not do what you want it to.

to get a fat warm sound youll want a fat warm toned bridge pup

The other obvious thing to do is make use of the guitar's tone pot (if it has one).

    Thank you!

What pick up would you recommend?

Looking for a warm vintage sound...
