    Default Ibanez HB2 Equivalent

This HB-2 bridge pup was put in the Ibanez ICJ100WZ (J. Yuenger) and I'm sure other various models.

It looks like a D Sonic.

Anyone what these were "modeled after"?

I have one of these pickups in a 1991 Ibanez RG565. They were modeled after the Dimarzio Mega-Drive, which sounds alot like a Steve's Special from what I've read. The tone is powerful but nothing special. Overall the guitar sounds kinda flat. I assume basswood plus Floyd has something to do with that. I'm in the process of redoing this guitar. New pickups, new pots, brass block...etc. I'm leaning towards a Dimarzio Breed or maybe a Gravity Storm to beef up the tone and give it some character. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.
