    You need to move your computer out of the kitchen

    all my dreams are made of stars
    and the rock and roll still burns in me

    As has already been posted earlier in this thread, it may just be a stuck Alt key because Alt+Space brings up the menu you're talking about. Just tap the Alt keys a few times with a bit of force and it should un-stick them.

    Did you try turning it ON and OFF?

    On a more serious note, are you able to use the on-screen keyboard (assuming you have windows based OS)
    Start->Programs->Accessories->Accessibility-> OnScreeKeyboard

    Let us know if the space on the on-screen keyboard works?

    Also you can try this.

    1) Control Panel->Keyboard
    2) hardware tab
    3) Click on the keyboard installed and "Properties"
    4) Driver tab
    5) Un-install
    6) Then restart the computer and try installing the driver again from the same window.

    let us know how it goes.

    Thanks for the help.

    Usually beer cures problems, but in the case of spilling it onto a computer keyboard, it does the opposite. haha

    Ya know....as much crap as we give each other, we're more similar in personality than you might think, and if we hung out together, you'd realize it quickly!
    I'm pretty sure your impression of me would go positive, and likewise.
