Default Super 5-Way Switch and Tapped Tele

So I was thinking of getting a super 5-way switch for my Tele to wire it for coil splits, my bridge pickup is a tapped quarter pound. If I use this diagram and use the tap wire where the red and white humbucker wires go to, will that tap the pickup in the second position, or will it not work?
You can run over a Tele with a pickup truck, pick it up - and it'll still play out of tune

No, if you wire it like that, you will ground ground the tap wire in the #2 and #4 positions.... You don't want that. You want to use the tap wire instead of the normal hot wire.

I can draw up a diagram for you, if you tell me more about your guitar and what you want each position to do.

Or, if you just have the tapped bridge pickup, you can use this diagram with a normal 5-way switch:

    You'll get:

    1 - bridge (full)
2 - bridge (full) and neck
    3 - neck
4 - bridge (tapped) and neck
    5 - bridge (tapped)

    wait a min
simply replacing the ground on the right side of the the diagram
    ---- the dotted lines -----
    performs that task

    no need to reinvent anything

try it one way if you don't like it move the grounded end of the wire to the
    volume pot

    easy peasy

I didn't see that when I first glanced at that diagram.
